Because the battle against The Black Swordsman is by Lang alone, the battle is more difficult than a normal boss battle. Luckily, he doesn't deal 2000 damage per turn; so this does give you a chance to defeat him. Keep landing your largest attacks on him as much as you can. Also, try to use some boosters at the beginning to get the upper hand in the battle and hopefully defeat him even earlier.
The Black Swordsman will use hyper arts during the battle as well. These arts are actually part of the Sky Arts. It's unknown at this point for where he learned the attacks. But later, the player finds out that the enemy was actually Kazan's old student, Rauss.
