Gaza is an old man who lost both of his grandchildren and own child from Seru in the Mist. He is not necessarily possessed at the time of this battle, but rather just going mad due to the Mist. He swore revenge and only cared about improving his swordsmanship by killing Seru in the name of his children.
During the first battle with Gaza, he tries to prevent the heroes from planting the Genesis Tree because he will have no reason to live if the Seru are all brought back to normal.
After defeating Gaza, Songi will show up and take Gaza away. Later, the player faces Gaza again at the top of Sol, but with a Sim-Seru.
Gaza slides when attacking, rather than running - a rather odd movement. One of his special attacks is called Astral Slash. After hitting the person with it, he seems to "teleport" backwards about a foot.
