The very first monster encountered in Legaia 2, regardless of what you may try to do, is the Klaw Ant. This is actually the point in which Galvan trains Lang in how to combat against enemies. Rather than teaching the main character to fight the trainer, like in the first game, Lang's presented in real battle against monsters.
While in the training mode, the player will also be given a Heal Powder, which will then allow the player to learn the healing process in battles.
The Klaw Ant is also the weakest monster in the game of Legaia 2. Defeating these should be no problem, as there's even kind of a "mission" to defeat a bunch of them in <Hunter's Wood>.
