Like before, these enemies can take a lot of damage before actually being defeated. But this is a good opportunity to learn some Arts from our Arts page if you haven't already. They can generally be defeated pretty easily and are a good time to either learn new Arts or recover the AP you've got drained away.
The main special attack for Mad Thorns is the Poison Dust, which does just as it says - poisons the target. This is the most powerful attack that the Mad Thorns will inflict, generally around 600.
