The strategy guide mentions using area-effective Arts, but this is not truly successful on these creatures. Assuming that the regular Arts work, it's probably possible to also kill the beans using Maya's arts. If you simply want to get them out of the way, put some use in those magic scrolls and wipe them out that way.
